Prep

• Drain all the water from the storage tanks, you do not want that to freeze and crack your tanks. To save your plumbing, add an anti-freeze solution to the pipes and you won’t be faced with a costly repair bill. A burst pipe will set you back a few thousand dollars.
• If it’s a long term storage, make sure to fill the gas tank to full and add a fuel stabilizer. This will make sure no condensation builds up and rusts out your gas lines.

Clean

We often see owners bringing their RV’s in and almost all of them are very clean. Many owners, probably yourself included, make sure that your RV is tip-top. Some tips for cleaning your RV are:

• Blinds closed to prevent the sunlight and UV rays from ruining the fabrics and paint inside the RV
• The fridge is kept empty and turned off when storing for a long term. After the fridge is empty and drained, spray it with an antibacterial spray and leave the door open to help airflow, which prevents mould.
• Your tires should be fully inflated prior to storage. This prevents cracking. You could also look into tire covers to prevent the sun from wearing them out prematurely.
